What is a DLI?

 

To apply for a study permit, you need an acceptance letter from a designated learning institution. It is a school/college approved by provincial government to admit international students.

 

 

How many bands do you required to study in Canada?

 

Most college/universities would accept a candidate with overall score of 6.0 (some colleges might take lesser score as well please contact us), higher the score the better opportunity to get yourself enrolled in high rated universities/colleges.

 

How do I enroll in Canadian university or College?

 

Once you have your language result with you and high school certification you can contact universities or contact us to assist you with getting you enrolled in your choice of province and city college/university.

Can I work while studying in Canada?

 

Yes, if you are enrolled in DLI then you can work while studying, there are certain conditions where and how long you can work while studying. Most work in ‘on-campus’ and you need to have a SIN number and valid study permit.  

 

Can I extend my study permit?

 

Yes, you can extend your study permit at least 30 days before it expires. Your study permit generally expires on the day marked on permit or 90 days after the day you complete your studies.

Can I extend my work permit?

 

Yes, you can extend your work permit at least 0 days before it expires. There are other conditions to be met, for example you might need LMIA.

 

Can I work while my extension application is under process?

 

Yes, you are in implied status till the time a decision Is not made on your application. Which means you can work under the same conditions of your earlier work permit.

Fastest way to immigrate to Canada?

 

Canada has many streams where an applicant can speed up the process of immigration. IRCC has introduced case management system ‘Express Entry’ to speed up process. One has to be eligible in following streams to be able to apply via Express Entry: Federal Skilled Worker, Federal Skilled Trade and Canadian Experience Class.

 

Do I need LMIA for work permit?

 

Generally, for a foreign national who has not studied from Canadian DLI will need a LMIA to get work permit (unless there is an exception). Canadian employer can apply for LMIA from service Canada if he/she is not able to find adequately skilled work force locally. That LMIA can be used to search for work force from foreign countries.

 

How do I extend my visitor’s visa?

 

You can extend your visitor visa by applying for visitor record. You must apply for visitor record before expiry of your visitor visa.

 

What is a visitor record?

 

Visitor record gives you status as a visitor in Canada and allows you to stay longer. It is not a visa and does not guarantee that you can leave and re-enter Canada. Processing time: 207 days

 

 

How long can a visitor stay in Canada?

 

Generally, most visitors can stay up to 6 months in Canada, but if your passport was stamped when you entered Canada then you need to leave by that date stamped on your passport. If you have a visitor record, then you must leave Canada by the expiry date mentioned on your visitor record.   And if your passport expires before any of above dates then you should leave Canada before your passport expires.

How long is super visa for?

 

Super visa can let you stay in Canada for up to 2 years at a time, it is multiple entry visa for a period up to 10 years.

 

What is processing time for super visa?

 

Processing times differs from country to country and is impacted by COVID.  

 

Benefits of super visa?

 

It allows parents and grandparents to stay up to 2 years in one visit whereas earlier they had to go back in 6 months or apply for extension.

 

Minimum requirement of super visa?

 

1. Be a parent of grand parent of Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident

2. Letter of invitation from child or grandchild (with proof of funds)

3. Bought a medical insurance from a Canadian insurance company for at least 1 year, at least $100,000 coverage

​

Eligibility for Essential worker program?

​

This program will start in May 2021 to 5th November 2021 or till the time the limit of applicants is reached. This program applied to 40 health care occupations and 95 other essential jobs (caregivers, food distribution and production etc.).
